Kanekalon® synthetic wig fiber is somewhat different from natural human hair. Some combs, brushes, and styling tools designed for human hair can easily damage or break the synthetic fiber. The Wig Company's quality wig combs, wig brushes, and other wig styling tools from top brands Revive and HairUWear are specifically designed for wigs and can style over and over again with minimal damage.
Styling begins with proper brushing, which helps wake up the fibers. Use short lifting strokes with a wig brush on styles with tight curls, waves, or soft curls. For wigs that are smooth, long, and straight, use the wig brush in long, even strokes. For longer curly wigs, use a pic wig comb or your fingers in lifting movements.
If you want height with any style, first brush in the opposite direction of the style and then smooth the fibers into the desired shape. When your style is where you like it, you may want to use wig spray.
The Wig Company carries a variety of quality wig styling tools -- including wig brushes, wig combs, wig stands, and wig head forms. If you choose to style the wig while wearing it, chinstraps will keep the wig in place while leaving your hands free to work their magic. You can also style a wig on a professional canvas blockhead or Styrofoam head form. Both of these styling aides allow you to easily see all sides of the wig, which is especially helpful if you have difficulty reaching up or back to comb. T-pins will help to keep the wig firmly in place on a head form so you can style the wig with ease. And when it comes time to wear your wig, our cap liners can help you stay cool underneath the wig.
